This dress is a tribute to Homer and Langley Collyer, perhaps the most infamous hoarders in U.S. history. They earned their legend status with the Harlem mansion they filled with an astonishing array of items—over 50,000 newspapers, 100 tons of miscellaneous garbage, and even human organs preserved in jars. When authorities raided their home in 1947, they uncovered not just a hoard but a deadly maze, complete with booby traps and, tragically, the brothers’ own corpses, likely crushed by the very possessions they couldn’t let go of.
